This post is inspired by recent events that were totally petty, bordering on vexing, pero, idadaan mo na lamang sa tawa. Hayayayayay!

Virginia Satir [mga Psych Majors dito, dapat kilala nyo ‘to!] has been known to say that we need 4 hugs a day for survival. We need 8 hugs a day for maintenance. We need 12 hugs a day for growth.

Sadly though, this basic gesture of warmth and affection is in danger of becoming a rarity in this age of individualism, mobility and disconnectivity.

When so much demands are being placed upon us, isn't it just great to just fall into someone's arms at the end of a rough day?

My work as a Counselor gives me the opportunity to listen to the youthful wisdom of students. Their views about life never fail to leave me with feelings of mixed reverence and respect.

In one of my recent chats with them, I was awestruck when my student emphasized how "our effectiveness is based on having the proper perspective".
